#8My Astronomy Club Best Friend —

I had sent Moe several texts over the past several weeks asking if he viewed the Atlas comet, Venus and Betelgeuse but no reply. The news later was so shocking because Moe was so vigorous and full of action. I could barely keep up with him on our hike at the Okie-Tex Star Party. Moe introduced me to Astronomy and I still have a hundred questions to ask him. He loved the Hurricane pizza with pineapple bits from Hideaway Pizza that we would sometimes split. I'll always see him there when I go. Gerry Bryant
Moe it was a gift and pleasure to have you as a patient of mine... Enjoyed seeing all of the photo's that Sherry posted on this memorial page of you and your life adventures and interests. Sending prayer for some peace and comfort to Sherry and all of Moe's family and friends. Moe I hope that you are continuing to enjoy your bike riding up above while watch down on and protecting Sherry and the rest of your family!
#6Fantastic Friend and Stargazing Buddy! —

Moe was a fantastic guy! I first met Moe about 12 years ago or so in our Sunday School class at church. We not only shared a common faith in Jesus Christ, but we also had common interests in astronomy, the space program, aviation and even the same favorite stand-up comedian. Moe had a great sense of humor and would frequently call just to tell me that latest joke he had heard.
Moe was a long time member of the Oklahoma City Astronomy Club and the Astronomical League. Moe served as the Observing Coordinator for the Oklahoma City Astronomy Club from 2011 to 2013. Moe earned the Astronomical League’s Comet Observing award and the Outreach award. Moe had also completed the observing requirements for the Astronomical League’s Globular Cluster Observing award.
For most of my life I had a casual interest in the night sky, but Moe’s enthusiasm and passion for stargazing was contagious and got me hooked. Moe and I would head out of town for an evening of stargazing as often as possible. Whether we were out for one evening in the local area or several nights at the great Okie-Tex Star Party in Kenton OK, it was great fun to talk back and forth with Moe as we tried to hunt down a faint galaxy, globular cluster, planetary nebulae or comet. I don’t think stargazing will ever be the same for me without being able to talk to Moe about it.
Losing Moe has been very difficult, and I miss him tremendously. But I know that I will see him again in Heaven!
#5Moe - what a great friend!! —

Hey Moe - you have been a close friend since I met you in the Metrochurch youth group. You loved adventures - the riskier the better. I always admired your ability to conquer anything you put your mind to. From flying with you in your plane, throwing toilet paper rolls out the window over Daryl Baxter’s farm to all the time we spent at Interurban discussing theology to our vacations in Colorado to lots of OU football games over the years, I’ve always loved you as a true friend and brother in Christ. You were the youngest 62 year old ever. I already miss you like crazy – seems so unreal that you’re not here. But I know reports of your death are false – you are more alive right now than you’ve ever been – you just entered into eternal life a little earlier than the rest of us. I’m sure you’re having the adventure of your life! So looking forward to seeing you again in a few. Love you, my friend!

So grateful for being able to see him for a few minutes when he dropped by on one of his many bikerides. Moe was a strong Biblical leader, prayer partner, and friend. He left behind a beautiful loving wife and my sister-friend. Moe, I promise to help her, to not let her be alone. I will be around to help her as long as she'll let me! I will always love you! See you again at home!!!
I’ve been away from (Edmond) Oklahoma for quite a bit, but my favorite memories of Moe surround coaching our boys. I remember him showing a group of aspiring young athletes love and patience in the form of baseball basic. Moe modeled servant leadership on and off the field.
Praying for Sherry and the family. I’m very sorry for your loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with Moe's family. Moe was a friend and encourager to all his bike friends. We rode together with the Edmond Tuesday Night bike group and Moe always made sure the slower riders where never left behind. We call it a sweeper, and he was the best! I am so going to miss his enthusiasm.

Sending heartfelt thoughts to the family. I mostly just knew Maurice through Joyce, but could tell what an awesome person he was and how much he was loved.
