Maurice Glyn Massey (“Moe” to those who knew and loved him) was born on February 23, 1958 to Glyn Massey and Erleen Joyce Massey. Moe left this earth for his Heavenly home on April 22, 2020. A celebration of life will be held at a date yet to be determined. First and foremost Moe was a man of God. He loved the Lord, Sherry - his wife of 35 years, Douglas – his son - and his family and friends. He was active in church and loved to witness to others, planting seeds of hope and salvation. He was a deep thinker and loved to have theological discussions. He was an Electrician by trade, most recently working for the City of Oklahoma City as an Electrical Inspector. Moe had an adventurous spirit, never sitting still for too long. He was a man of many interests and hobbies. He and Sherry traveled to Japan to visit Douglas; he loved to hike always striving to reach the summit of his favorite mountains, always challenging himself to further and higher peaks. He road his bike with a goal of 2000 miles a year - a “short” ride to him was 12 miles. His newest interest was guitar – he was taking lessons online and teaching himself to play Stairway to Heaven. He was an astronomer, photographer, bird and butterfly watcher, golfer, pilot and skydiver. He was a graduate of Edmond Memorial High School and attended Eastern Oklahoma State University and studied aviation at Rose State College. He was a member of the Army National Guard having worked in aviation (his passion). He was a member of Life Church, was a Bible study leader and was active in many organizations throughout his life, including Son Catchers, Pepper’s Ranch, and was a member of Oklahoma City Astronomy Club and Oklahoma Bicycle Society. Proceeded in death by his father B. Glyn Massey, mother Erleen Joyce Hawkins Massey, brother Frank Massey, and nephew Reece Massey. Survived by wife Sherry Massey, his son Douglas Christian Massey of Edmond, OK, sister Margaret Joyce Cobb of Edmond, OK, brother Michael Anthony Massey and wife Kari of Norman, OK, brother Mathew Vance Massey and wife Susan of Edmond, OK. Nieces Rachelle Ketchum, Sara Massey, Chelsea DeLorge and Lacie Holley. Nephews Keith Wiley, Jack Massey, John Bollich and Jason Bollich.
