My heart goes out to you and your family, Laura. Your Dad was such a kind, happy person. I remember him fondly, from countless hours spent hanging out at your place when we were back in high school. It is rare to find in this world accomplished leaders who are so selfless, caring and giving. A wonderful man.

Dr. Watkin was a mentor and a role model for me, as I know he was for many others. I learned so much about how to think about research, about the importance of persistence and of learning from one's mistakes instead of being defeated by them. He was a tremendous person with a great heart and spirit and I feel so grateful for having known him. My condolences to his family.

We, and Art and Doris Siedler, sat for years in the Assembly Hall for men's basketball games a row behind from Ken and Tanya. It was great fun listening to Art's play-by-play as well as discussions on what to advise the coach and the team at half-time. Ken was always smiling and cheering, win or lose. Fond memories, indeed. Go Illini !

Dr Watkin will always be in my heart, as one of the best bosses I ever had when he gave a me and others a chance to work on his amazing idea of coming up with a 3D ultrasound at the Royal Victoria Lab at McGIll. He was always encouraging and positive, even in the light of our failures. His encouragement, that beaming smile and his trust in us made us believe in ourselves and our team. The environment he created caused strong friendships to develop, that have lasted till now. We will miss him. Our condolences to Dr Gallagher and the whole family.

We have wonderful memories of Ken.  He was a caring brother-in-law and family anchor. We remember his love of roller coasters and amusement parks.  Our trip to Cedar Point with the rotating food table is a family legend.  Ken had talent in the kitchen, too, especially for his rosemary chicken. He had a ready smile and great love for his family. He loved Tanya Laura and Ella with all of his heart.   We will miss him.

I was fortunate to have known Ken and Tanya through the international organisation, IALP.
Ken was a giant researcher and clinician, ready to share his knowledge with international colleagues.
His contagious smile and warm and gentle manner will be remembered by those who knew him.
He was devoted to his wife and family and never failed to talk about his grandchildren, whom he was so proud of.
May he rest in peace and may Tanya and his family find peace and comfort in this difficult time.

When I think of Uncle Ken, I think of his smile and hear his wonderful laugh. I remember fondly all of our family trips and visits-- and especially animal-shaped pancakes. We will carry you forever in our hearts. Thank you for being such a wonderful uncle.
Love,
Melissa, Scott, Colin, and Brandon

I will cherish the memories of animal pancakes, Cedar Point, early morning fishing trips, Strange Brew and all the laughs we had together as a family. A goodbye would not be complete without a final "Take off you Hoser!"
We could not have asked for a better uncle.
Rest easy, we will take it from here.
Love,
David, Lisa, Cody, Ben, and Max
