#2 Chad & Cheli Uncle Bug MemoriesChad 2020-10-30 21:08
From Cheli-

What I remember most about Mr. Uncle Bug.

I always loved to chat with Bug. He had a great laugh and always made a point to laugh and laugh often. It was never fake, there was always truth and depth to it.

He was always extremely generous. Some of our best years were our "Elephant Bar" years together. Aka the buffet time in our lives.

Many times, after a fun night out, Chad and I would wake up hungry and go out to a Buffet with the parents and Uncle Bug, and ate at the best of them. Standing in line and learning the ropes from the guys who knew the line the best. Fill up on the good stuff, the crab and meat, and leave the rest for the rest. I remember talking movies with Bug and truly taking his recommendations to heart. I always liked to be around him, and I always had a good feeling when he was around. He was a genuine person with a big heart and soul. He left fond memories and feelings that we will always cherish and share. He started traditions that we wish to carry on in his name, they made lasting impressions and in those ways his spirit will always carry on.

We love you Uncle Bug.

From Chad-

Cheli and Kelley said it best, Bug loved to laugh, eat good food and was always generous. I remember riding in the back of his Chrysler the red one in particular going to the best buffets in Long Beach. Things were always more exciting when he was around, I always had a good conversation with Bug whether it was movies, food or just random facts. He also made turning 13 very special, 100 brand new crisp 1-dollar bills. Holding that stack of money made you feel like you could buy whatever you wanted, a tradition that we will carry on is his name. The holidays were always more exciting especially Xmas's when we did the gag gifts, he always brought some fantastically bad gift that you knew took a lot of thought, it was hilarious. I could still hear his joyful chuckle, he will be missed and we will think about him often, we love you Uncle Bug.

Random Bug Facts Continued...

1) I still remember his full name that Kelley taught me when I was ~7, Johnny Thomas Ididimus Christopher Holmes Peter C. Wallace Henry Jones Rushing the Third, has a nice ring to it. Still don't know the origins of this name, but I never forgot it.
2) I was told he read the complete set of the Webster Encyclopedia, I believe it, Bug a smart man.
3) I always remembered he loved the fatty cuts of meat, that always made me laugh
4) We once went to a buffet and eat nothing but crab legs and shrimp, needless to say I was impressed
5) Biblical knowledge was impeccable

Nothing but great memories, he will be missed.

Love,
Chad, Cheli and Ben
