Janet and I worked together in radio in the 1970s. We both worked at WVNH and WLLH....We also spent a lot of time together back then...I am so saddened to hear of her passing...and at such a young age....She was always so much fun....I remember laughing and having so much fun during those times....I have never forgotten her and she will always be in my heart.
I was very sad to read this and remember growing up and listening to this dj who used to sign off saying “this is Janet bates and I’m outta here” would this by any chance be her ? My deepest apologies

I was so upset to read about Janet's passing. While growing up in grade school together with all the Bates girls, Janet and I as classmates, grew very close, spending countless hours together. When the Tripp Bates clan moved away, we lost touch... until I saw her around Boston during college years. Then I transferred to school in Philadelphia. I never knew that she too eventually moved there! She was such a wonderful person who was very bright as well as amazingly beautiful in so many respects. My heart is filled with sorrow and yet re-kindled with the very fond memories of times we shared. My deepest sympathies to her family and all those around her. I ope someone will contact me in Edgartown so that I may join in her life memorial. I light a candle in Edgartown thinking of her and hope that I shall meet her spirit in the after-life! Ben Hall
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to family and friends. May all your good memories outweigh your sadness during this difficult time. (Isaiah 25:8) To find out more regarding the hope for the dead visit JW.org and search "death".
Knowing that our deceased loved ones in God’s memory are asleep in death and awaiting a resurrection can give us solace and kindle our desire to carry on with life. Yes, we can confidently look to the future when Jehovah God, the Giver of life, will bury death forever.
