#9 Farewell Fred.Álvaro Clemente 2021-02-13 16:08
Fred was one of the coolest teachers I've ever had the luck to be a student of. He was always proposing fun activities for the class, always showing us interesting stories from the industry, even from the world of the radio, which might be one of the less popular media platform nowadays. He never made a class boring, always engaging with his students on a personal level and always trying to help them in any way possible. Truly a great loss in the education world. I promissed Fred once this is all over we might go to a pub and get a beer, and once it will be able, I'll have one on his honor. Will be listening to Thin Lizzy/Phil Lynott's music differently now, it was cool to share some of our love for the band. Rest in peace, Fred, you've earned it. We will carry on your teachings forever.

''How can we carry on
When you are gone, my wild one?'' .-Phil Lynott

#8 A letter to a lovely soulSabina Macenauerova 2021-02-13 00:12
Dear Fred,
I honestly could have never imagined this happening, it’s still difficult understand and accept the reality of it.
You always mentioned enjoying my writing, saying the nicest things like the emotions and enjoyment you had from reading it.
I want to say thank you for everything, thank you for always lifting me up whenever you had a feeling I was down, thank you for noticing the small things and acknowledging any problem, thank you for checking in on me, thank you for being so amazing and supportive, thank you for taking so much time out of your day to help me in any way; thank you for being you.
I admire how you always had a positive outlook on all aspects and situations in life, it is inspiring to me. I have no idea why you had to be taken away so soon but I hope as your student I can make you proud. We had talks of all things life, animals, tv shows, universities, jobs, your life experiences and travels. We spoke about phillipe and your doggos, Bentley took over most of our meetings strutting his stuff making you giggle. You were such a positive light in everybody’s lives, you gave me advice that I will hold onto for the rest of my life.
You’ve done the most amazing thing for me which is support me and set me up for the next stage of my life. You always told me I could achieve anything I wish. I feel incredibly honoured that you wrote my reference for university and I’m happy to tell you I got accepted into the one you hoped I’d get into the most, and I’m sure I’ll get all the others too because I believe that was your last present to me.
I’m sorry we won’t be able to meet for the coffee to catch up in 10 years like we planned. But I will always keep you in my memory and work hard so that when we do meet next you will be proud and happy to know all your advice and support went a long way.
I hope this letter finds you somehow.
Thank you Fred,
Rest easy,
Sabina

Fred had such a big personality and had the ability to put a smile on everyone’s face. He was truly passionate about his work as a lecturer and radio presenter/execu tive and was able to infuse that passion into his students. His love of dogs was infectious and he always gave me the best canine advice. He touched so many lives and will be truly missed by all his family, friends, colleagues and students past and present. RIP

Fred was the funniest and the kindest teacher ever , I never saw him angry or upset with anyone , he was lovely with everyone. He used to say that the way I used call him is fun because only his mum used to call him that way fredieeee and This make so happy that in any way I made him feel more special than he is . I will only remember him laughing, telling story’s about his dogs and travels. I spoke with him last week and he was telling me about the reference on my UCAS application and he said vanuza I wrote good things about you I am sure you will get all the offers you want. He helped me chose the universities , the right course for me and always make an effort for anything at anytime if I need. I am sure he was special for everyone because he had a wonderful soul and wonderful energy that anyone around him would feel happy.

Fred became my teacher at the second year of my college. He was so enthusiastic about teaching, he always talked with passion and with the intent to educate those around him. I started to see how charismatic he is, he helped me so much with my units, he would stay with me the whole day to help me with my UCAS applications, even though he was sick. Thanks to him I have offers from all of them. It breaks my heart to think that he passed away, I just don’t want to believe it. I wished I could of heard him speaking about his dogs again, I promise that I will do better than my best at uni and my future career as a way to honour him.
