Dear Brother Dave,

Two years now have passed to the day we lost you. It is still surreal. There was so much we were going to do.

Christmastime again without you with us, sadly. Our thoughts and memories were repeatedly on you.

Today, a tragic anniversary, is a dingy overcast cool morning, and as very sad is how quiet your memorial sites have remained since the beginning. Everyone can keep their reflections in their own way, but surely a thoughtful word to pay respects could have by now been shared.

You were taken from us far far too soon,,,,You are missed!

Dear Brother Dave,

It is stunning that a year has passed to the day we lost you. Christmastime was particularly emptier without you with us. Our thoughts and memories were repeatedly on you.

It is a bitterly cold morning (in double digits minus), but at least as cold as we were all left when you were taken from us far far too soon,,,,

We miss you!

Brother Dave,

You left us all far too soon! !

It is now a colder, more surreal world without you in it. Your passing is a wound to the spirit so deep.

I always held out for hope that you find that spark and miracle that would see you through and past your most profound struggle over the past several months. The menace of so many ultimately cheated you of the long and fullest life that you deserved.

If there is an afterlife, I hope that you were heartily welcomed into that realm, free of pain and burden, by your late father, Harold.

There were so many experiences and laughs to share. Fun recreative plans and road trips yet to be fulfilled. I lament the opportunities lost in times past, due to the demands of busy lives. Time past too quickly as well.

There are so many fond memories, and I will drift through them time and again to keep memories of you fresh in mind.

Thank you, my Brother, for your part in adding colour, joy and substance to my world. You will be forever missed, never forgotten, and always embraced in spirit.

For quite a time now, I will rely on an adage that hopefully brings me strength, as it has for all those generally who have come before me. May these words likewise be of inspiration to others sharing this Memorial:

" I am hurt, but I am not slain.
I will lay me down and bleed a-while,
and then I will rise,
and I will fight, again. "
