Light a Candle
Philip Gene McDowell, Sr., 73, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed on July 25, 2022 due to cancer. Philip was born in Pikeville, Tennessee, on January 20, 1949. He went to Bledsoe County High School, he went to Vietnam and did two tours, he was on Aircraft Carriers, he came home and moved to Chattanooga and went to work for Norfolk Southern Railroad and retired after 41 years. He has travelled the world. He was preceded in death his son, Jeffrey Nicholas McDowell of Cleveland, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Paula Triplett McDowell, his ex-wife, Teresa Young McDowell-Dixon, his sons, Dr. Philip Gene McDowell, Jr., MD and his wife, Andrea Liles McDowell of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Patrick William McDowell and his wife Sara Hefer McDowell of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, and his grandchildren, Hayley Fiona McDowell (22), of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Philip Jackson McDowell (15), Carson Sanders McDowell (15), and Hudson Kenan McDowell (13) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Patrick Warrick McDowell (11) and Lexi Noelle McDowell (8) of Signal Mountain, Tennessee. His public visitation will be at Ponders Funeral Home on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 2:00-5:00 PM.
