Memorial Biography

Lewis A. Knudsen, was born November 5, 1938 in Waterville, KS, the son of Frantz and Ethel Knudsen.
Lewis attended school in Marysville, and graduated from Blue Rapids High School.Lewis joined the Marine Corps and trained at Camp Pendleton and was stationed on Guam Navel Base. Lewis married Joyce R. Nevins in August of 1972.  He returned to college in his forties, and earned a Bachelor's Degree at Kansas State University in computer science.

He retired as a computer programmer for Yellow Freight Inc. Lewis enjoyed woodworking, making his own beer, computers, game design, and he had a love of history.Joyce preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents, an infant son David, and a step-son, John Mowry. Lewis is survived by his daughter, Debra Feldhausen (Frank); step-children, Vicki Simons (Pat), David Mowry (Annette), James Mowry (Kathy); brother, Larry Knudsen (Jo Beth); sister, Lois Sarachek (David), 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Lewis A. Knudsen, 73, of Meriden, KS, died Friday, July 13th, 2012 at Stormont Vail Hospital.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Blue Rapids, KS.
