Kathleen Rolf Rathbun, 82 of Savannah, Georgia passed away August 15, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born to the late Freeman and Marie Rolf , June 26, 1940, and was raised in Essex, CT. Kathleen attended Valley Regional High School where she played field hockey, and basketball. She graduated in 1958. She married Wayne Rathbun May 20, 1961 and they lived together in Old Saybrook, CT and then Chester, CT for many years where they raised a family together. Kathleen is survived by her husband, Wayne and two children: Marcia Rathbun of San Antonio, Texas and Greg Rathbun (wife: Terry Davis Rathbun) of Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Jessica Rathbun. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Freeman and Marie Rolf and her brother Thomas Rolf. Kathleen will always be known for her love of playing cards, mahjongg, a round of golf, hosting potluck parties and enjoying the company of many good friends. When her children were younger, Kathleen and her husband were the first to host neighborhood picnics and clambakes or a dinner at the house. She loved going on family vacations, boating on the Connecticut River, flowers, bowling and the many pets she had over the years. Always ready for visitors with a glass of wine in hand, she will be dearly missed by many. A celebration of her life memorial service will be held on August 24 from 1-4 p.m. at the Olympus Fenwick Clubhouse 101 Fenwick Village Dr, Savannah, Georgia 31419
