Light a Candle
John David Hamilton (David to his family and friends) passed away in Raleigh, NC, on October 25, 2020, at the age of 60. David was born September 13, 1960 in Lynchburg, Virginia, but spent most of his life in the Raleigh, NC area. He is survived by his mother, Delpha Rose (Herring) Hamilton and his son John David Hamilton Jr., both of whom he loved fiercely.
David was a free spirit who enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was walking the fields hunting arrowheads, in the woods hunting a ten-point buck, fishing off the pier at the beach, or just hanging out with friends drinking a beer and listening to live music. He was skilled with his hands, starting at an early age, he learned masonry while building a school on an Indian reservation (where he also developed a love for American Indian folklore), later expanding his skills to include carpentry and painting, and continue into his own business, White Buffalo Painting & Home Improvements.
David loved his family, was extremely proud of his son, and was a loyal friend. He had a soft heart for animals, loving both dogs and cats alike. He has made many close friends over the years, all of whom have shared a special bond with him and will miss his one-of-a-kind personality and the fun times they've shared.
