Memorial Biography

Celebration of Life

Curtis Beasley was born April 10, 1940, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Buddy Beasley and Christine Leslie Beasley. He was the first born of two children to this union.  Curtis accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, uniting with Saint John Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, California and was baptized as a public confession of faith in Christ by the late Reverend Carl J. Anderson. He received his education at Oakland Technical High School where he met his sweetheart, Myrtle Lee Holmes. In 1958 they were united in holy matrimony. To this union four children were born, Curtis Jr., Cleveland Van, Kimberly Karole, and Chris Anthony. Their love for God's word was an added strength to their marriage and caused their love to flourish throughout 47 years.

Curtis began his career at General Motors and remained there for 32 years and retired as an inspector from NUMMI. Curtis was an avid lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family and friends. He loved to travel and inviting his friends to barbeques. In his spare time he loved to hunt and bowl with his buddies.

Curtis Beasley, Sr. departed this life April 23, 2013 and was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Beasley, his mother Christine Leslie Beasley, his wife, Myrtle Lee Beasley, his mother-in law Ernestine Holmes and Aunt "Dee Dee" who was like a second mother to him.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory, four children, Curtis, Jr., Cleveland Van, Kimberly Karole, and Chris Anthony; his sister, Louise Lloyd, and uncle KC Leslie and (wife, Doris), two granddaughters, Angela LaTarsha Beasley Buckley and Raquel Nicole Jete'; three great grandchildren, Duane, Dijona and Darious Buckley; one great great-granddaughter, Dezarae Amyir and a host of loving cousins, relatives, former co-workers and many, many, many friends.
