Light a Candle
Betty Ann (Rhymer) Marquez (72) of Hemet, California passed away in her home on Saturday May 11, 2019 at 8:17pm.
Betty was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on October 30, 1946. She is the daughter of the late Iva Eads Miller and Samuel Rhymer.
Betty moved from Middlesboro to Lafayette, Indiana in 1959 and graduated from Southwestern High School in 1964. She moved to California in 1979 where she spent the last 40 years of her life.
Betty accomplished many things throughout her life, including owning a wallpaper and frame shop. She most recently had a day care center in her home where she impacted the lives of many young children. She enjoyed cooking, home decorating, scrapbooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Shellee Bromley of Hemet, Scott Flickinger of Hemet and Stephanie (Matthew) Jones of Moreno Valley. She also has 9 grandchildren: Chantel Purchase, James Purchase, Levi Flickinger, Valentine Flickinger (deceased), Ericka Flickinger, Chase Flickinger, Kaylee Hernandez, Alex Hernandez & Eric Hernandez, plus 3 great grandchildren Nikki Purchase, Shelby LaPierre, Evan Bell and another great grandchild on the way.
Betty is also survived by her sister Billie (William) Forney and her brother Jimmy Rhymer.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents Iva Eads Miller, her step father Paul Miller, father Samuel Rhymer and her sisters Maggie Rhymer, Patty Miller, Joette Smith and her brothers Norman, infant brother Sydney, and her granddaughter Valentine Flickinger.
Betty’s Celebration Of Life will be held on Sunday June 2, 2019 from 3-7pm at 4670 Beeshou Way Hemet, CA 92545
