You were the best Popa we could have ever had. I have such fond memories of visiting you in NZ as kids and you coming to visit us. You always made us laugh, would run around with us and spend all your time looking to make us something cool. I remember as kids the awesome billy cart you built for us and we spent hours running up and down the street every day just to get as much time on it as we could. Swinging around on your clothesline, picking vege's from your vege garden and endless adventures all around NZ. You will be sadly missed but will always be remembered. Rest in peace and re-united with Nana. xxx Kim
Dad, I am going to miss you so much - you were the best father a daughter could wish for. After Mum passed, I rang you every day and we used to have a cup of tea together - you at morning tea time and me at breakfast here in Australia. Now every morning I think of you when having my cup of tea. May you Rest In Peace, reunited with Mum Love always Lynnette
Condolences to Peter and Lynette on the passing of your father, a wonderful man and a true gentleman. Neil came to join us as chief engineer at Aero Engine Services Ltd (AESL) on Bankstown Airport in 1969. Our division was new and all of the staff were young. When Neil arrived he provided a much-needed fatherly figure and his huge experience and knowledge of aircraft engineering was eagerly absorbed by these young and enthusiastic engineers. We all worked hard, but also (in the Alf Coleman / AESL tradition), enjoyed a very active social life as well. Neil and Edna rented a large house in Milperra Road which was surrounded by bush and trees. They made pets of very large, furry spiders, by putting saucers of warm milk and bread out on the verandah rail each evening - a great way to study Australian wild life! We had an amazing team, a real family, which by hard work and dedication, grew the fledgling company into a very successful business. When I was transferred back to Hamilton, Neil took over as manager. As a director of the Australian division, I was able to visit Neil and Edna in Bankstown on a regular basis. I was thrilled when Gary Blithe contacted me to say that Edna and Neil were living in the Eventide Home at Tamahere, and I was able to visit and renew our friendship - and relive some of the memories of our days at Bankstown. Rest in peace Neil.
My condolences to Lynnette and Peter and your families. Neil was a great inspiration and fun to be with, my joy ride in the afore mentioned Alfa was a wonderful experience and the great memories of my mother cleaning the house before a visit from Neil and Edna are the big stand outs. Neil you will be missed greatly. Tim and Sue Roberts
Neil was a work colleague at NZ Aerospace Industries Ltd and Pacific Aerospace Corp Ltd from 1975 thru 1989. A very good engineer and man of integrity. -John Linch
