#1 A Little About Your Mommy - to Kaylee JaneWhitney McKinney 2018-08-07 16:02
Laura and I became best friends when we were in Middle School. She didn't have a certain group she hung out with Bc she loved and treated everybody the exact same. I never realized how much she was loved until she passed away. This has broke thousands of hearts across the nation. Laura lived a life of passion and adventure and everybody she met fell in love with her instantly. Laura and I got to share many memories together. We were able find and approve of eachother's first love together, we would pass notes in school talking about how a certain someone said hi to us in the hallway. We got to experience all of the little things in life together that you experience in Junior High and High School. We got grounded together, we got ready for dances together. Your mommy was always coming up with new ways to do her hair whether it was putting flowers in it or wearing it up. She was her own person and did not care what anyone thought. Even though I loved that she would still ask Rochelle and I to come over and ask our opinions and wanted our approval. She had many best friends and whoever is able to call her a friend knows how lucky they were to do so. She made the halls of our school light up. She ended up transferring to Deshler High School near graduation and of course I was jealous that they got such an amazing person but we were still best friends. When she moved to Deshler, she instantly had everyone's attention Bc of her amazing personality and beauty. I remember when we would go to football games we would cross to the other side and I was amazed at how she had caught everyone's attention so fast at a new school. When I would walk around with her on our opponents side of the field I felt like I was a rockstar Bc she turned so many heads. In college, she was the same way. This girl knew how to have fun but she knew her limits. She had so much dedication and self control that she knew to put college and her studies first but always left time with friends. If someone (whether she knew them or not) needed a ride home Bc they couldn't drive you better believe Laura was always the one that stepped up. She put everybody before herself. As we got older, I would love seeing her from time to time Bc I stayed in this little town and Laura set out to explore the world and new opportunities. I loved our talks when she would come into the salon. She never talked about herself. She would talk about everyone else or ask how they were doing - Bc she truly cared. And when I say talk about others it was never bad. She loved hearing about other's accomplishments and NEVER talked about anyone. Believe me people like this are rare in this world. Unfortunately, most people like to hear about bad things happening to good people. When Laura was around she reminded her friends not to be like that. She truly makes Everybody in her life a better person. The reason she had a smile on her face all the time is because she lived a life full of love. She did not have ANY hate in her heart. She sacrificed for everyone and put them before herself. If I can teach you anything about your mommy then I hope this is it. Read about her and be like her. Don't ever have hate in your heart. I wish I could be more like your mommy. And even today she is a role model to so many. Seeing how she lived her life and how she accepted everyone in without passing judgement, I know now she was 1 in a million. I haven't met you yet but I already love you. I can't wait to watch you grow up. This world did lose an amazing woman, but we gained one in a different form.
