Light a Candle
Ben, you are my soulmate, the love of my life. Meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me and pressuring you into marriage was the best thing I ever did for myself.
For the rest of my life, I will always hear you say "good work dear!" in my head every time I accomplish something, regardless how minute, and I will feel that you are still with me, for you have become the voice inside my head. When faced with life's challenges, I will always ask myself "what would Ben do in this situation?" or " What would Ben advise me to do in this situation?" and try to draw on the advice you gave me to overcome it. Thanks to you, I can finally be the best version of myself. For that, I have no words to describe my gratitude for you.
Thank you for your tireless counselling and guidance when I needed it. You taught me that I don't have to blame everything on myself and that I am not responsible for other people's actions in life.
Thank you for giving me the most beautiful wedding a woman could ever hope for.
Thank you for giving me such a nice home.
Thank you for all the wonderful dates you took me on. We sure watched some nice shows and we certainly had some very nice meals at some of the city's best restaurants.
Thank you for the romantic week-end getaway we had in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Thank you for all the beautiful jewellery you gave me over the years.
Thank you for all the quiet times we spent together at home cuddling and eating in front of the TV.
Thank you for your immense patience, kindness and forgiveness with me every time I lost my temper.
Thank you for your cheerfulness, your sense of humour, your protection, your kindness, your generosity, your wisdom, your advice, mentorship and guidance.
Thank you for taking such good care of me in every way that a wife could be taken care of.
Above all, thank you for your love.
Even if I could go back in time and choose someone else, I would still choose you to be my husband. I would rather have 5 years of marriage with you than to not have you at all.
Being your wife has been the greatest joy and honour. Until we meet again, rest in peace, my love. I will hold you in my heart forever. It is a broken heart but it will forever be your broken heart.
And I WILL make you proud.
With love and gratitude,
Your Anna (forever and always)
