Memorial Biography

Born - Robert Fredrick DiConti,- in Chicago Illinois March 4, 1940 to parents (both deceased) Andrew and Ruth DiConti. Died.- May 31st 2019 11:58 am in his home after a 15 year battle with metastatic prostate cancer. Robert F. Di Conti He was married for 34 years to Alicia DiConti He is survived by his companion Suzy Salerno, Alicia Di Conti, daughters: Jessie DiConti, Jennifer DiConti, Allyson DiConti-Cole and sons: Stephan Matthew DiConti and Matthew Louis DiConti. He is a Grandfather of Madison Liberty DiConti, Kyle Young, Jessica Shcrimpf, Joel DiConti, Kylie DiConti, Jordan DiConti, Chandlar DiConti, Brenn DiConti, Lindsey DiConti, and Austin DiConti. He will be remembered by brothers Andrew DiConti and Greg DdiConti, and sisters Lois DiConti, Irene Ann DiConti (RIP) and Jeannie Marie DiConti. Navy Veteran, Robert Fredrick DiConti was an artist, photographer and teacher. He was a devout Catholic, and a man of strong faith who loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a dedicated steward for Christ as an avowed Lay Marianist, and Catechist. His art contributions are on display in various churches, and in a book he published before he passed, called The Gift":­ A Personal Paschal Journey with Christ Through Photography and Sculpture". He was an instructor of the arts and theology at Chaminade College Preparatory School, in West Hills CA. He was a beloved art teacher at Royal High School and St Rose of Lima in Simi Valley. Robert was a man who sought solace in the majestic hills of Simi Valley, CA. On his days off, he would run for miles and miles enjoying natures beauty and speaking to God. He participated in numerous charity runs, 5k and 10k races. He also loved the desert, explaining once to his children and students, "It was my place of meditation, where I would connect with Christ." He was down to earth and had a wonderful sense of humor. He died in the care of his girlfriend of 17 yrs, Suzy Solerno at the age of 79. His resting place is at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary in Westwood, CA.
