Jerry Grayson passed away in New York on March 5th, 2013. He was 75. He is survived by two cousins, Neal Lavon, of Takoma Park, MD and Rick Lavon, of Highland Mills, NY. Jerry was born December 9th, 1937 to Kitty and Frank Festa in Glen Cove, LI. He performed in many plays in high school and ran a dance studio as teenager. He was a veteran of film, TV and the stage. His last film role was "Mel", directed by the Coen Brothers in the soon to be released INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS. He has worked with directors such as Mike Newell (PUSHING TIN), Robert Redford (QUIZ SHOW), Sidney Lumet (FIND ME GUILTY), Andrew Bergman (STRIPTEASE), Andrew Jarecki (ALL GOOD THINGS) and Michael Imperioli (THE HUNGRY GHOSTS). Other films include: GONZO FILES, FULL GROWN MEN, THE TEN, THE OPPORTUNISTS, MOB QUEEN, MONTANA, PEROXIDE PASSION, THE BREAK, BULLET and THE LONELY GUY.
TV viewers will remember him from such series as THE SOPRANOS, 100 CENTRE STREET, LAW & ORDER, WONDERLAND, NYPD BLUE among numerous others, including "Boris Kildare" on the soap, ALL MY CHILDREN. Jerry's stage career has included everything from stand-up comedy clubs to theatre festivals to Broadway. Some favorites: Surviving an on-stage heart attack during the final Broadway preview of ON THE WATERFRONT (with Kevin Conway, Ron Eldard, David Morse and James Gandolfini) playing opposite Marian Seldes at Williamstown Theatre Festival in THE ROYAL FAMILY and winning unanimous raves for the role of "Diamond" in Lincoln Center's THE LIGHTS. Other stage credits include: SURVIVING GRACE, SEARCH AND DESTROY, GRILLER. WORKING TITLE, BANG THE DRUM SLOWLY, GUYS AND DOLLS, KISS ME KATE, ONLY KIDDING and many, many more. He will be missed by those that knew and loved him.
